Amanda Woodward - By
Anders J. Svensson
Very early in life, I was diagnosed with the entirely fictional
yet aptly named ODD (obsessive drawing disorder). Afternoons of my childhood
were spent sitting on the brown shag carpet of the living room drawing
dragons and cupcakes and an endless variety of men in top hats.
From grade school to high school I thrived on art classes, always favoring
the creation of elaborate report covers instead of the actual reports.
My formal art education achieved critical mass in 1999 when I graduated
from Grant MacEwan College with a diploma in graphic design & illustration,
fond memories, and Dana Woodward (who I hypnotized and later married).
My office career began as a designer working in-house at a large engineering
firm. I was recruited away from that job by a similar, smaller company
who hired me to build and lead their new design department. I came to
realize that the office is not my natural habitat. And so, on a snowy
Christmas Eve in 2002 I turned in my laminated access card and left
the building.

Design was born a few weeks later and has flourished thanks
to support from my family and friends, and a dedication "work =
fun". It is truly a pleasure to spend my days with cat in lap,
sipping coffee, and helping people reach their goals while doing something
I am passionate about.
